This depends on the model:

- EVOC Bags: Depending on the setup, usually wheels out, handlebars turned or removed, pedals often removed.
- Bike Box Alan Bags: Aero bars can remain mounted, the bike is cleanly fixed.

You'll get a packing checklist matching your model from us.

You rent the bike case including model-specific protective accessories (e.g. frame pads, wheel bags, or spacers).

Note: Tools for disassembly and reassembly (hex keys, pedal wrench, etc.) are not included.

The minimum rental is 1 week. Each additional day is charged at a lower rate.

Tiered pricing: The longer you rent, the cheaper it gets per week.

- 1 week: Weekly rate (minimum rental)
- 2 weeks: Weekly rate + 2nd week at 40% discount
- 3 weeks: 2-week price + 3rd week at 50% discount
- 1 month: 3-week price + 4th week at 60% discount

You can choose between a refundable security deposit (amount depending on the model, shown at the time of booking) or a damage protection fee (non-refundable once the rental has started, 15% of the deposit amount, rounded up to a multiple of CHF 5). The payment methods on offer are shown in the booking form; nothing is charged until we have confirmed your booking. Our Terms & Conditions set out what the deposit covers and when it is refunded.

If you chose the deposit: after return and a short check, we refund the deposit within 72 hours. If damage or extraordinary cleaning occurs, we offset this transparently with the deposit.

If you chose the damage protection: you pay no deposit. The fee is not refunded after the rental. In return, we cover damage to the bike case up to the deposit that would otherwise be due for your model. If the damage is higher, we invoice you for the amount above that. The damage protection does not cover damage you cause intentionally or through gross negligence, or airline damage without a PIR report. The damage protection is not insurance.

You can pick up the bike case at our partner Velo Lade Urdorf or have it delivered with Swiss Post (oversized parcel). The return path is also with Swiss Post or via return on-site. Make an inquiry

Bike cases are bulky. In classic saloons and smaller cars they often do not fit, even with the rear seats folded down; the limiting factor is usually the boot opening, not the boot itself. Cars with a large tailgate (estate cars, shooting brakes, SUVs, vans) normally offer enough space. Tested: the bike case fits in a VW Golf thanks to its large tailgate, but not in a Tesla Model 3. Picking up by public transport always works: the bike case has wheels and rolls along on the bus or train. Check the exact dimensions in the technical data of your chosen model before booking. If you are unsure, contact us and drop by Velo Lade Urdorf to test-fit beforehand, or choose shipping with Swiss Post and the case is guaranteed to reach you. Important: if you cannot take the case with you at pickup, this counts as a no-show under our Terms & Conditions (section 8) and the full rental price remains due.

VeloCase works with independent partner businesses where you can pick up and return the bike case. These partners optionally offer additional services, e.g. professional packing of your bike or bike service with cleaning and packing.

VeloCase acts only as an intermediary - the contract for additional services is concluded directly between you and the partner. Prices are shown transparently at booking and collected via VeloCase.

Important: VeloCase is not liable for the quality of partner services or for damage to your bike caused by the partner. Any claims must be directed to the partner directly.

Additional services can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the handover date. For later cancellations or no-shows, the full price is charged. To process the rental, your booking data (name, contact details, rental data, bike details) are shared with the partner.

If you choose shipping, we send the bike case with Swiss Post as Bulky Goods (CHF 39.- per bike case). There is no shipping method for you to pick.

Outbound and return: The price covers the full round trip. On the way to you the bike case travels as Priority Bulky Goods: it arrives on the next working day (Mon-Fri) and is always signed for on delivery. It travels back as Economy Bulky Goods, and the return label is included.

Important about rental dates: The start date is the day you want the bike case to arrive. The end date is the day you drop off the bike case at Swiss Post. For shipping, the start date must be at least 4 working days in the future. Weekends and Swiss public holidays do not count as working days. We ship as early as possible and add buffer days so that the bike case reaches you on time.

In exceptional cases, deliveries may be delayed. Swiss Post assumes no liability for delays according to their terms and conditions. Tip: enquire early, then you can pack in a relaxed manner.

If you chose shipping, the return shipping costs are already included in the shipping price. You'll get a return label together with your bike case. Simply attach it and drop it off at the post office (oversized parcel). We'll send you clear instructions on when the bike case must be back so that everything runs smoothly.

Get in touch early if you notice it might be tight. An extension is only possible if the model isn't already rented out again afterwards. For unarranged late returns, double the daily rate is charged per started calendar day. You're also liable for all provable consequential damages (e.g. compensation to subsequent renters).

Yes, please return it normally clean (no mud or coarse dirt). In case of heavy soiling, a cleaning fee of CHF 30 applies.

Normal signs of use are okay. Damage is anything that impairs function or structure (e.g. broken parts, defective rollers, torn straps, broken zippers). You're liable for damage, loss, or theft according to the Terms & Conditions.

Very important: Report damage immediately at the destination airport at the baggage counter and have a PIR (Property Irregularity Report) created. Without a PIR, airlines usually reject any liability. Your liability towards us remains independent of this.

We provide the bike case and the accessories. For damage to the bike content, we're only liable in case of gross negligence on our part. So: pack correctly, use the checklist, fix the bike cleanly.

The bike cases are made for air travel. Whether an airline has additional rules (weight, sports baggage policy, registration) is up to the airline. You're responsible for correctly registering sports baggage and complying with the conditions.

Note on SWISS: SWISS only accepts bicycles as sports baggage in a suitable bike case or a comparably stable container. Our bike cases are specifically designed for this. According to SWISS, bicycles must be registered in advance (limited storage space). The maximum weight per bike case is 32 kg, the maximum total dimension (length + width + height) 3.50 m. These requirements are met as long as the bike case is used as intended and not overloaded. E-bikes are generally not transported by SWISS, regardless of the bike case used.

According to SBB, this is possible if the bike is dismantled and completely stowed in the bike case (e.g. front wheel removed, handlebars turned, bike case closed and robust). Carriage is only allowed if there is enough space and no areas are blocked. In the event of high passenger volume, train staff may refuse carriage. Areas for strollers, wheelchairs, and paying bikes have priority.

Cancellation must be made in writing (email is sufficient) no later than 3 days before the rental start. The day it reaches us is decisive.

- 14 or more days before the start of the rental: CHF 25.- administrative fee, remainder refunded
- 13 to 7 days before the start of the rental: 25% of the rental price
- 6 to 3 days before the start of the rental: 50% of the rental price
- Less than 3 days before the start of the rental or no-show: 100% of the rental price

If we can rent the bike case out again for the cancelled period, we only keep the CHF 25.- administrative fee. The deposit or the damage protection fee is always refunded in full upon cancellation.

Pickup and return at Velo Lade Urdorf (Steinackerstrasse 2, 8902 Urdorf) are possible:
- Monday to Thursday: 12:00 - 20:00
- Friday: 12:00 - 18:00
- Saturday: 09:00 - 15:00
- Sundays and public holidays (canton of Zurich): closed

No appointment needed. Just come by during opening hours on the start and end dates of your rental. Handover outside these hours only by arrangement: CHF 50.- surcharge. Our Terms & Conditions set out this surcharge.
